Ordina in a nutshell
good organisation structure open communication honest

"As an Oracle software engineer, I belong to the project team that is developing and implementing the real-time monitoring of Belgian train traffic. I carry out mainly technical analysis and deliver the source code to the .NET developers.

Thanks to the Oracle competence centre, I keep my knowledge of the latest technical developments up-to-date. Every month, the centre organises a meeting with a technical and a fun component. We share our knowledge with each other through presentations and workshops. But it is always enjoyable to meet up with our colleagues who are working around the country on different projects."

Ordina in a nutshell
ambitious big career progress projects

"As a software engineer, I program in .NET, both for Web and Windows applications. I am also a data management expert. My expertise is in MS SQL 2005.

I am part of the Data Management competence centre. Knowledge gathering and sharing are particular areas or our work. Specifically, I work with MS SQL and PerformancePoint server technology. That is really interesting, because we can keep tabs on the latest developments in the SBA and BI world.

Which training courses I have been on? Too many to mention! Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, T-SQL, UML, .NET, IIS, Project Management, XML, PHP... That is just a selection from a long list. When it comes to gathering knowledge, you will certainly be spoilt for choice.

We pass on usable knowledge immediately in-house. Via info-sessions, training courses, technical advice for concrete projects... A direct opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice."

Ordina in a nutshell
 dependable friendly cheerful strong flexible

"As a system administrator mainframe, I maintain applications for small business loans, and develop new applications. I have a lot of input. That brings a great deal of freedom with it, as well as great responsibility. My favourite project so far was the migration to a multi-bank platform in the banking industry. A mega-project, where a lot of functional intellectual work was needed.

I have already been on various training courses on-the-job, such as Cobol, Amaril, DB2, structured programming, APS and VAG. The great thing is that I can put the theory into practice straightaway. In addition, I was able to attend a few courses and seminars purely out of interest. That helps you see what might be of interest for your future.

The ratio between projects and secondment is very good. All ICT services are adequately represented, from Cobol and SAP to networks. So you have plenty of options for your advancement. How do I see my future at Ordina? First of all, I want to expand my current job, possibly into functional design. And later run a big project on mainframe for Ordina."
